Hello, and welcome to my site!
My name is Kayla, and I am here to tell you a little bit about myself, where I come from, and my story!
I was three years old, living a wonderful life back home in the small town of Laurel Springs, New Jersey. I had a mom and a dad - no siblings... yet! For the most part, I was so young that I was completely content with life. I loved my mom and my dad, they were my whole world.
However, my whole life was about to change...
Within about three months, the small world that I had once known immediately got larger. My dad received a job offer from his company Boeing airfare, to move to Japan and sell aircraft to Japanese customers. My family was very hesitant at first, but with little convincing and a higher salary on the line, we finally committed.
Traveling with my parents as a four year old was a long and strenuous journey. 15 hours on a plane is not fun... trust me. After we had gotten to Japan, my father worked almost every single day, and my mom and I were left to travel Japan by ourselves. Not only were we traveling the country of Japan all alone, but when we would fly home on special occasions, my father would not be able to come with us because of work.

This is where my role of female travel comes into play, especially female travel with a young one. Living in Japan was safe, yet super dangerous at the same time. The Japanese would always blame my mom and I for dropping the nuclear bomb back in World War II ! It was scary, a woman and her daughter traveling together all of the time. There were always safety hazards, and dangerous aspects of travel with the two of us.
When flying home, my mom would always worry about something happening to the plane. Remember... this was all before 9/11 had even happened. It was scary having to travel alone, on flights where you never knew what was going to happen. We always had to be aware of our surroundings, and it was a very scary time being that I had a lot of anxiety when I was a child.
Needless to say, I am alive and well today. My Japan experience truly morphed me into the adult that I have become today, an adult who is no longer afraid to travel on airplanes, or walk throughout a different country.
My job now is to inform you all, my wonderful readers, some tips and tricks about living and traveling throughout a foreign country as women. You may not believe it, but traveling as a woman is completely different than traveling as a man. It is possible to easily get taken advantage of in a foreign country, and I can help out with guidelines as to how to stay away from those kinds of situations. I can also inform you of ways to travel long periods of time with a child, which I will do by using some interviews with my "famous and brave" mother.
I want you all to get out of my writing, what I have experienced as a child, and how I can make your lives within the travel world better.
There is an entire world out there! Don't let your fears stop you from achieving your dreams.. Be brave and go for what you want girls!!
